BIO

Born in Port Huron, Michigan, Devin is a versatile artist specializing in modern sculpture, woodworking, and jewelry. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art, with a primary focus on sculpture, from Bowling Green State University (BGSU). Before pursuing his degree, Devin spent eight years designing and machining tool and die components. This engineering background initially steered him away from traditional art mediums. However, he has since merged his technical expertise with his artistic vision, creating works that blend the precision of engineering with the fluidity of creative expression.

In my journey as a sculptor, I drew upon my academic background in engineering with an artistic vision to explore the intricate balance between technical precision and creative innovation. Utilizing tools such as 3D printing, CAD software, and 3D model-making, I explore the dynamic interplay between form and function. Each sculpture embodies a fusion of my academic background and intuitive artistic instincts, reflecting a profound curiosity and an unwavering commitment to experimentation.

Through my work, I strive to challenge conventional notions of sculpture while sparking contemplation on the evolving relationship between art and technology. By pushing the boundaries of traditional methods and embracing emerging techniques, I aim to create pieces that captivate the imagination, transcend mere physicality, and prompt viewers to reconsider their perspectives. Ultimately, my art serves as a conduit for dialogue and discovery inviting viewers to engage in an exploration of scale and its profound impact on human perception.
